the application’s database to the XDA system.
The delegation process loads the tables
onto the XDA and sets up replication triggers that keep
the local Microsoft SQL Server and the XDA system in
a coherent state. Once the application’s tables
have been delegated, the application’s transactions
are processed natively on the XDA system without using
SQL server CPU resources.
Problem: Long
running reports?
Solution: Replace your reporting server with an XDA system.
Reports that used to require frequent
reads from disk now run against an all-in-memory copy
of that data. Whether you are executing complex multi-table
joins, or need to summarize information stored in very
large tables, the SQL used for these reports requires
no modification and is processed natively on the XDA
system. Also, batch updates from the production system
are eliminated since the XDA system maintains transactional
awareness with the underlying database.
